Just started stripping pipework off for V6 oil cooler and always thought the washers for oil pipe banjo bolts & coolant bridge ones where the same ie Dowty type seals not so on mine the oil pipe ones look like alloy washers hope somebody can put me right on the correct ones for which option and does anyone know part numbers for both types if thats what i need.Also whats the best way to check if it is cooler at fault for dumping oil in header tank ,thanks

Nope, never been the same, the oil cooler banjo bolts are a metal crush washer. :y
The banjo bolts used to be the same but I notice some of the 2.6/3.2 ones are different

Thanks for clearing that up and yes they are different on my 2.6 the oil cooler bolts have a longer thread depth.

I checked my faulty cooler by forcing compressed air through and placing in a bucket of water. Sure enough air bubbles appeared from the oil cooler body. Just like looking for a puncture on a bicycle in principle. May be worth a 'double check' but it was down to a failed cooler in my case. All ok now though with a new cooler fitted. Just as a point to share, I used GM dealer sourced parts and the new cooler was significantly more substantial/robust looking than the failed one I removed.
