what year was car?
-
It is a 2000 V plate
I reckon a wheel bearing is going, exhaust blowing a little when cold.
But very responsive and light to drive.
-
Manual or auto? And where does he live :D
-
Just over a year ago I paid way more than double that for a 3.2 '03 Auto estate in great nick and around 70k. But yours wasn't with some rust and other issues, and older. I actually think you did ok. :y
-
Difficult to say without seeing some pics of the car, the 70k millage is the bit thats worth something, then its down to service history, last cambelt change etc, Green is not the most sort after colour tbh, some rust, exhaust, wheel bearing knocks it down a bit plus anything else to was wrong playing up or potentially a future MOT Fail.
Probably a tad cheap, poss 700 - 850, tad more if you were prepared to sit on it for the right buyer and probably end up putting another 6 months Tax on it (150).
When you say basic spec, was it a Retail Spec MV6 or ex Police MV6?
-
The car is an auto, and it's not an ex plod.
It has cloth seats, no cruise. It has the ccrt600 stereo - no sat nav.
As you say the mileage is the key and does go like stink :)
I haven't yet let it go nor has he paid me for it yet.
I'm not far from York.

The question is..are you satisfied yourself with the price,,if so flog it.. :y

This thread needs pictures 8)

Unfortunately due to the number of posts I have I couldn't put it on here for sale...
I think £650 is faiirish - I will buy it back off him in a couple of years when he's finished with it :y
The thing that niggles me is that he's a heavy smoker, and gets through cars like I do cans of Old Speckled Hen

In future if you ask nicely they might oblige... especially when you're selling at a fair price ;)
I think £650 is faiirish - I will watch it falling into disrepair for months and then be sad when he's wrecked it :(

Maybe the car will outlast him then.

From your description I reckon you did very well. I've seen better cars go for less.
