Omega Elite estate 2.5 TD Manual gearbox.
Sadly no compression on 3 & 5.
Basically the car has to go. I have a garage bill to pay for the work done so far.
Will need to be trailered away from the garage in Letham Scotland (near Forfar) as she is now SORN'd
Would be a nice breaking project but I don't have the premises to do this myself.
I'm going to put this on here for a week then on eBay for a week, after that the local breakers will have to take it away.
I'm back up in Scotland from the 17th to the 26th to get this all sorted and gone.
I believe this is a salutary lesson on the evils of using Ezystart!
Anyone care to make me an offer??

Probably going to need a Price indicator in there Jon to abide with the Forum Rules.
If in doubt, put a "price" in there that you would feel comfortable with as to the cars worth and current circumstances, followed by a "but open to offers" ;)
-
Aah, yes, forgot about that, sorry.
Lets say 200 quid but open to offers.
That's probably slightly more than a breaker will offer.........

Hi Jon, my mig has just been spoted for sale at dealers in clacton-on sea, price £1290

That's just my luck Keith. Mind you, that's quite a way for me :y
I'm still humming and hahing about the old girl, she was so nice to drive.
I may see if there is anywhere I can store her/work on the block myself.
After all, it can't be that difficult to get the head off, can it???
-
If it were not for the distance I'd snap this up :(

Bladdy hell! An Elite TD Manual Estate???
A rare beast, and surely someone could/should save? Just the best of both worlds car, really. All the kit, all the mpg, all the space.
Best of luck finding a home/best option for you, Bootie

Whoops. missed that reply, been a tad busy, escorting both grown up sons on the eldest stag run in Dublin last weekend....... Just prior to that arranged to buy an engine from a member in Stirling (nice and close) that was being delivered by him to Letham, was arriving the day I flew to Dublin.
Original message and subsequent phone calls were to do with him possibly buying the car, lucky for me he was amenable to selling the engine instead, a complete unit with possibly a couple of bolt on bits missing, alternator, starter motor which I already have anyway. OK so no warranty but hey, right price....
No word from the garage yet which I suppose could be construed as good news? I'll drop him a line or call tomorrow morning see what's what.
Going to enjoy this weekend village fiesta to the fullest, weather has turned out nice, 32 degrees down the sea front this morning, much nicer cooler 26 up here in the mountains, perfect cerveza drinking weather.
Away back to work on Monday, Congo then rig tow up to Nigeria...... back to UK end of month for eldest lads wedding with a quick cornish visit thrown in after so I may not get to see the Omega until next year!
I think the above sentiment is correct and that's why I decided I had to get her back on the road!
Cheers

VERY glad to hear it!! Bringing the V6 back to life knowing full well that most cars that get broken for parts here and on ebay are in better nick doesn't deter me. I think it was Ian Callumn, Design Director at Jag that said "The Car is the nearest thing we shall ever make to a living creature" or words to that effect
