I am just repairing the front pax door lock solenoid in my FL Elite, using Kevin's excellent guide, according to which it should only have one micro switch, however I have two, one white and one black. The guide suggests that the white one is usually the guilty party.
Should there be 2 switches? (The door card has clearly been off before)
Absent any specific info, I guess I should change the white one.

I seem to recal my 03 CDX estate has 2 switches as well, can't remember whether they were different colours but the one I swapped out was definitely white. If you have a multimeter you will find there is a bit of resistance between the contacts as they are a bit burnt and pitted. I got a suitable replacement from Maplin and everything worked again :y

Yes, no problem with it having 2 switches. I think the guide needs rewording. :-[
The second switch is only used when fitted in the driver's side position. I've seen some passenger locking motors where the switch is missing, and in most rear locking motors it's missing, but it doesn't matter if it's there when not required. The wiring loom simply doesn't contain the wires that connect it unless it's a driver's side door.... if that makes any sense?
The colour isn't necessarily a reliable method of identification, but the switch to change is the one oriented with its' button closest to the motor (i.e. it's actuated in the central position of the sled that's attached to the threaded shaft).

Thanks very much Kev, that makes sense, so I'll change that one, which I think, without going out to look, is the white one. :y
