Outstanding looking motor.

Service book shows ~3k a year mileage.

It's a lot of money, but worth every penny IMHO.

All things are relative (as is true in Norfolk) ;)

Mine was much cheaper to buy but it'll have cost nearly the same after 3 months of ownership just in overdue maintenance/repairs  :(

Similar mileage/spec. Similar end cost. Time will tell.  ;)

But one needs a lot more man hours than the other. Although where's the fun in just driving it, aye? :)

Hmmmm....according to the mileage history it had only done 24000 miles up to October 2013, meaning it's done 31000 in the last year. Remind me how often the cambelt needs doing because this one is 4 years old. No mention of current MOT, as far as I can see.

Still very nice.

Ad says: Cambelt kit replaced approx. 7,500 miles ago

No documentary proof of that in the ad though. It shows a cambelt change at 17000 miles, 4 years ago. I'm not trying to pick this apart, just being cautious.

From the look of the paperwork, MOT runs out on Nov 14th.

If someone goes to see it, the mot history can be verified buy using the dvla car check... it's totally free, but you need the v5 reference number to get the MOT history :y

Even without the v5 number, it will tell you when the tax and mot are due, and also if it has a VIC marker on it :y

Did someone not buy a similar red saloon from RB for nearly double that price recently? This one seem to be a bargain in comparision.

I wouldnt be surprised if it re-appaears on RB's website with a substantial markup soon.

LZ IIRC, but with RB you know you will get an answer if there is a problem.  This seller is unknown.

That said, I sent the advert to my Father who is seriously considering the car.  I'll be pissed if he buys it though, it is a belter.

DP;

The only thing that bothers me is the short MOT - If you looked after the car so well, and KNEW it would fly through an MOT, surely you'd stick a ticket on it?  All should become clear tomorrow (if it doesn't sell before then).

Before he, or anyone else buys it...

Use this link https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla (https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla)  :y

As said earlier, with the V5 Reference number as well as Reg/Make you can get the complete MoT history which will soon highlight any mileage discrepancies... it does also tell you if a car requires a VIC before the keeper can be transfered :y

HPI check will tell you if it has previously been written off etc

For the right car, I'd do the belt anyway, regardless of ANY paperwork.

And possibly test it too. Don't want an mot too near winter, personally.

Edit, actually, ask the seller to test it before purchase as part of the deal. If it passes, happy days. But the bushes will likely be buggered regardless. ;)

That's where I'm at with this particular car.  Regardless of condition, it will have a ticket prior to purchase (if sale progresses).

New tyre's fitted to the front suggest either a careful owner, or bad tyre wear to the front axle.  All been noted.

And, Derby isn't a million miles away - so if it turns out to be less than a peach, we'll turn around and say farewell.

'Hark at me - almost like I'm the one buying it!  ;D

Yup, it was me, but just £3,400 after p/x of the old 3.0.  I haven't regreted it with the car being a delight every day I drive it. I have pampered the car and spent money I needn't to have but for me my (now 61K) last of the run 3.2's is my long term car, not just for the short term. My reckoning is that the late large engine Omega's can only eventually increase in value as time goes on if they are looked after..

This estate is very interesting, and tempting due to it's apparent great condition. Not just the MOT situation worries me a bit, but the chap states there was "One previous owner from new and owned by me for the last 10 years". What is that all about? ??? ???

Advert clearly says 55,000 miles twice, so not a typo, yet in the first picture of the dash, zoomed in the mileage looks like ?28273 and in the second picture, the 8273 are clearly visible although the first two digits are hidden

As Stmo suggested yesterday, summat isn't quite right... I would definitely be doing an MOT history check on that :-X

Here are the odometer readings listed on the current MOT. As I said earlier, this means it's done thirty-odd thousand miles this year. Strange.

It is odd, your right Al it does have 20 odd thousands in the pics, unless these pics are old,ie soon after the last mot

Looking at the car it has the tell tale signs of a car that has been well looked after, all the documentation is in A1 condition like it has been filed carefully away, Dealer serviced and Service dates co-incide with MOT dates, MOT dates all are in October so no random or late MOT's,  stainless steel exhaust fitted, engine bay looks clean (not tarted up), sticker for the K& N filter applied and plenum bolt covers in place, keys look like new, sales brochure in immaculate condition.  Car has Irmy steering wheel and grille, mudflaps, immaculate wheels, boot liner to protect the carpet, removable towbar, car is clean inside the door shuts and boot recess.  This car has been pampered and had a loving owner, probably someone on this very forum!

I think the sellers had a change of circumstances that mean he is using the car more hence the higher mileage in the last year and he now wants something more economical.

I am nothing to do with the sale or seller - but if I was looking for another Omega I would be on this guys door tomorrow - in fact I am amazed it has not been sold already as it is probably worth more than the £2250 he is asking.

Top Man - Good info on there.

Also I think I have worked out the mileage question - it has only done 25000 - he has made a typo.

Ad says belt done 7500 miles ago - service book says that was at 17000 miles - it works out.......

Please someone buy this before the weekend or I will go and get it!!!!! :)

Darren

If anything it must have been done earlier, or very late somewhere during its life, as it was registered in March.  :y
That's not a crime though, could have been tested early for new buyer, or sat around for a few months.  :)

Mileage is cocked up twice in the listing... Once you can understand, but 55,000 isn't even close to 25300...

If it's kosher then all well and good, but that is probably why it hasn't sold :-\

Reply from seller " The speedo unit was replaced under warranty in January 2005 when the car had done 25343 miles and since then I have done another 25300 giving a total of just under 55000."

Not the full reply but the important bit.

Yes that is what it says, but why not just say I have owned it for the last 10 years.  The one previous owner, for just 2 years, is not worth mentioning on a car of this age.

Just seemed strange, but so many of the statements made on ebay can read in a way to raise suspicion when none is justified, as could well be the case here.............but then we have that mileage............! :D :D ;)
