... do they use the same relay as the standard wipers, or is it a different part number :-\
Car is a saloon if that has any bearing whatsoever...
-
Can't see it being the same, there'll be no intermittent bit in the relay if the car has auto wipers :-\

Hoping that a) Rob G will know, and b) that he might have such a thing should I require it :y

When I fitted Elite Rain Sense Wipers to an Explod Estate it didn't work (well it did but the self park was missing) for some reason, or the wipers were just doing their own thing and not parking correctly), I then took the the stalk and wiper relay of the Elite and fitted it to the Plod Estate (even though it had no variable wipe) and all was well
I didn't take much notice of the relay ident number at the time but let me know and I can check the relay id that was fitted, sorry cars not parked outside house at the mo.

That would be great :y be nice to get it hypothetically working before I have a new suitable screen fitted...
Should add that both mirror and sensor are from early Vectra Cs as fitted to non Elite Omegas as a factory option. Mirror works perfectly, but sensor does strange things. I guess the reasons for this are that it isn't clipped to the screen and that the relay is different. Wiring is present and correct though...

Whats the ident on the rain sensor?

Whats the ident on the rain sensor?
JL with a date stamp of 28/05/02 which puts it squarely in the Omega production time...

No need for a new Screen Al, before final fitting, cut out to shape and fit some black vinyl sticky stuff directly to the screen (the stuff they sell in hardware stores to refurb cabinet doors etc), making sure you cut a square hole for the sensor of course. ;)
That effectively all the screen does, it hides the gubbins inside the black cover :y

Edir to above /\ /\
I may have a see through picture of the screen taken from the inside without the Rain Sense gubbins attached if that helps for above. ;)
In fact thinking about it, I may even have the template I made up for it kicking around somewhere (somewhere!). :-\
Of course if your thinking about doing an Insurance job (good luck with them finding a screen) then you wont need any of the above. ;D
-
;D it does legitimately need one as there's a 20mm chip on the passenger side...

Think two "multi-purpose" relays are required

Thanks Rob :y
I saw reference to summat along those lines in a guide hereaboots, but can't see Gm cobbling together a couple of relays when one purpose built one would plug straight in :-\
Will have a plough through the wiring diagrams to see what the electrickery looks like...

Thought for the minuite Rob was about to tell us how easy it is to remove a Screen from a mig. :-X :-X :-X :P :-*
