Title: internal coil spring compressor

just thought i'd throw this out on the forum,i am trying to find anywhere that can hire me a coil spring compressor,it must be the internal type.any help will be much appreciated. i am based in the erdington area of birmingham. T.I.A mike :(

Ratchet straps? They can be a mare though.

Depending on how strong the spring is, several exhaust clamps might do the job. If you're carefull.

need to change springs on a mb w210 3.2 diesel,as you can imagine the springs are very beefy, thats why i need the correct tool, i remembered how helpful this forum was when i had my 2.5 tractor

In that case, forget both suggestions: you do need the proper tool.

How do you think i fitted my spacers,they are fine so long as you take your time and carefull.

I have the correct tool you need but you are a bit far from me you are welcome to come along and use it if you would like but would cost a small fortune to post :y

Still wouldnt.

My thumbnail still grows in three pieces after I smashed my thumb to pieces when one slipped. Its called learning the hard way... I still use them but with a great deal more caution.

Hypothetically they held long enough to change a wishbone :-X Not recommended though ;D
