My DTi whilst undergoing a prolonged motorway trip put the eml on last night and went gutless in limp mode
I plugged in code reader - it won't connect.
Is the DTi ODB2 compliant?

Should say, restarted, and was fine for rest of the trip - 100 miles

Vac system, check the u shape rubber on the vac pump at rear of cylinder head and all rubber vac joints

Was it under load?
Boost pressure sensor - bolted onto the inlet manifold, DTi's very occasionally throw a code for boost overpressure when given a right spanking / towing uphill giving it the beans this gets clogged up. Answer is to get that inlet manifold off and clean it until it's spotless and clean the boost pressure sensor as well. Nice job..... honestly ::)

Checked all vacs as first port of call :y
It was working hard, that's all I'm saying!! I have been intending to de coke it for a while. I occasionally get a little cough usually at light throttle after acceleration
Can't be anything serious, she goes like a bullet
The only recent change has been 3000 miles on cheap carrefour euro diesel which visually is bright green
I will invest the time, I love this car :y

Should add, 300ml of two stroke oil added to every full tank of diesel makes a World of difference in the noise department. :y

Does it?
You know, that's the only thing I don't like about mine, the incessant clattering at low revs. The 2.5's are so much better than the Dti's in that department.
Got some two stroke oil from the bikes so might give it a go. :y

why should adding two stroke oil change the noise ratio, I'm not a diesel addict for personal use.
