Post by: TheBoy on 25 September 2014, 15:27:46
Patching will mean an outage on the webserver and database servers. Not sure of time yet.

How did you know that I was taking SWMO out this evening, and so wouldn't be wasting time here anyway  ;D

Fixing the bash vulnerability?
I will when the vendor gets out a patch that's not butt frucked

Dont hold your breath.  From what I am hearing there is as much damage in dozntime being done by dodgy patches as there is by the vulnerability itself.

Mind you the exploit is in full flow on the web now.  Seeing massive spikes in malicious activity :'(

OK, outage will be later today.

Need to check if the underlying hypervisor is vulnerable, if so, its liable to be a biggie (4-6hrs), else should get away with about 30mins
