Hi,
I'm new to the site and would like some expert advice please on a question i have. I have an Omega 2001 2.2 Cd manual petrol, but was conseidering converting to LPG. I've been told that some engines dont always convert well and it causes long term issues. As anybody experience of converting to LPG with a simular model and is it ok in the long run??

As long as the install is sensibly done it will cause no issues on a gm lump of this era :y

Welcome to oof Matt.
That's right some engines don't convert well. Any ford the seats are too soft. For example.
However there's no such issue with any of the omegas, and plenty of guides in maintanance and FAQ to help if anyone wants to diy install, or show an installer how to do it properly. ;)
Not sure the 4 pot is covered though. :-\

Thanks for the help. It wont be me personally that does it, would seek a proven company to fit it for me, just wanted to be sure i wouldnt cause damage to the car before going ahead.
How much should i be looking at to get the car converted profesionally?

Diy costs are about £800 worst case for a v6, just in parts.
So plus labour, shouldn't be much more than £1200 for a four pot, but that's a total guess. Depends in what type of tank, what size, and which kit you choose for the front.
Prins is top of the range so will cost more.
Stag or brc are more reasonably priced, but a bit more fiddly to set up by comparison.

See what others say, I don't follow the four pots so others will likely be more informed.

I know tunnie did his 2.2 a few years back, but under specced the evap, so it fires back to petrol every time I drive it.
That aside, he's had no issues with it

If you are still looking at this I have a full new install kit that I bought from the forum (Al Taxi 3.2) which is still in its box never fitted everything you need to convert a V6 to. LPG ( and start saving money on fuel!)

My frontera is the 2.2 which has stag 4 lpg fitted,does around 180miles to 44 litres of gas
