well been on a forced holiday---no not in lock up-though maybe I should be :D spent past months swearing and getting cut/burnt and made lighter in wallet--all the work so far-interior included was done by myself--sewing machines are lethal :D so enjoy or cringe -oh it started 1st time too today after 7 years of idle rusting

I had the Lowline Zephyr, before which I had a Mk1 Consul, which frankly, was twice the car. :y

I'm guessing a car that age would have drum brakes all round.

Didn't do me any good, I parked a Consul 357 in a Hedge in Potters Bar in my Teen Youth, was coming up far too fast to a T junction (as you when your young) ended up with total brake failure (Hydraulics) going straight over it in to the hedge, can still see it now, all happening in slow motion.
Thing that really pissed me off was I only had the car 2 days, bought it as a run around, as I rolled my Escort 1650 on a roundabout, also in Potters Bar a week earlier. :-[
Only paid £50 for the 357, the two things I do remember was the 3 speed column change and the front bench seats where you ended up in the passenger side if you went around a corner too fast, Oh, and them Inlet Vacuum Powered windscreen wipers that actual slowed down to halt when you put your foot down on the gas. ;D

Oh , is that the car your putting the 3.2 mig motor in ???
?? gota 350 chev bored to 383 with hi comp pistons and edelbrock heads-mostly done-will end up in rover Also got a 3.9 rover vitesse with a auto box in garage But leaving standard 1703cc four pot in consul-saves me time/money--however if buyer wants-I can get a 3.0 and manual box from a capri for a very reasonable fee-
