Title: Drivers electric window sticks, about half way down.
Post by: Bigrichpal on 17 October 2014, 20:25:22
Hello all.

My Miggy 2.5 V6 Estate - on a 'V' plate - needs a bit if tlc. The drivers electric door glass slides down easily until it gets about half way down, then the front edge seems to jam while the rear will drop about another inch before it sticks fast. It always comes up again, nice and square, when the button is pressed, and there are no odd sounds like graunching gears or twanging metal when the system locks up.

I am assuming that this will be a regulator based fault but has anyone had any similar problems and can advise on a remedy? I have heard that if it is a 'regulator out' job, that it is riveted in place. If this is true then I will need to get a pop riveter before I start.

Thanks for any help you can give, Richard.

Probably find something on the inside edge of the runner inside the door might be twisted or even jumping the runner altogether

Tried using a silicon lubricant on the runners? ;)
