Had mine a couple of years, went well, excellent on fuel and nothing went wrong, only issue for me was towing weight was too low for our van,I'd still have it now but for that.

We had an Auto and both myself and swmbo LOVED it, fantastic car and very quick if you want it to be, extremely reliable, but big service at 90000 will cost you, belt change, but guess nothing worse that a Mig V6.............. :y :y :y
If that was nearer to me I would have it........ ;) ;)
Just told swmbo and her comment was, 'if you are on oof it will be too fast for you' meaning in comparison to the mig......... :D :D :D
-
There's one of them for sale in my road for £950. The only thing is the guy who's selling it hasn't put his phone number on the ticket :D :D :D
And no one knows where he lives ;D
-
The real ones in estate form(legnum) are the way to go, :)
-
Good looking and reliable cars......but that one is many shades of silver looking at the images. :-\

They would if you needed them...... :y :y Service items OK on price, 90000 Mile service, belt change by Main dealer expensive, got it done for about the same price as having the Mig V6 done, so not OTT at the end of the day...... :y Only sold ours at 130,000 as the ABS warning light came on, and was time to change............. :y :y

No problem in the UK Cem, in my experience, but nothing serious went wrong...... :y :y

I had a 2.5 V6 Saloon, 1998.
I wouldn't say it was a slouch, but it made the V6 Vectra I had at the time feel like a rocket.
The Auto box is extremely lazy. Maybe just a problem with the one I owned? Extremely comfortable on a run, rides nice but small inside.
The VR4 would be the only one on my 'maybe' list.
-
I believe NickW ran a Legnum for a while fwiw :y

I would agree that the autobox was lazy having driven a couple, mine was manual and went very well mainly because of low kerbweight rather than outright power,I thought mine was beautifully finished inside and out.

Looks quite a nice vehicle for the price, always liked the look of them..

I did. It's quite small, but comfortable and unbelievably dull to drive. They're low and have limited suspension travel. Mine was a 1.8GDI(grey import) and both gutless and heavy on petrol. V6s are even heavier drinkers and still lack performance. Autos are worse in both areas by a large margin. They are quite fragile, and being a Mitsubishi parts prices are comically horrendous. Mine needed a suspension rebuild that was going to cost nearly £1k in parts. The twin turbo 4wd is capable and fast, but is likely to bankrupt you.
My advice? If you must have one, don't spend more than £500, and bin it when something needs doing.Which it will, soon.

You can hardly compare the 2, that would be like saying a 6 pot is crap because a 4 pot Omega is......... ::) ::)

I tend to agree, on country roads I found it best to put it in 3, bit like pressing the sport button on the Mig, it is a very fast car, and a far better car to drive than my Honda........ :(

???? Surely a direct comparison is the only one that's possible? Having owned the GDI for 15 months, and driven V6s they are both lacking in performance and economy. I didn't compare them to anything else, but will if you want; the GDI makes a 518 feel spritely, and an auto V6 does the same to a 2.4 Granada. V6 Galants have a lot in common with V6 Mondeos; the cost to benefit ratio compared with a 2.0l is way off.

Well, I can only speak as we found, Mitsubishi Galant V6 firstly mine and then swmbo car. We both found it a fast and predictable car to drive, faster, in our opinions than the V6 Omega...................... :-\ :-\ The only other car I have had, that was quick, was a Rover 827......... :y :y Not familiar with the Granada or Mondeo ......... :-\ :-\
-
That's arguably a perception issue Vamps, the four pot Omega being relatively relatively sluggish, and thereby unwieldy given its bulk. The Galant being a fair bit smaller... In the same way a 2.2 Vectra B is quicker and more engaging to drive than a 2.2 Omega :y
-
Id be getting it HPI'd as the different shades of silver would worry me TBH
I prefer the estate version meself as they look loads better than the saloon....

But you were comparing a 4 pot 1.8 with a V6 2.4 Galant, is that not the same?............. :-\ :-\

No, that was me. And you're missing my point which is that the 1.8 is under powered and thirsty, and the 2.5 for all its extra cylinders and capacity is similarly disappointing.

We will have to disagree on that, the V6 Galant we had was a 'flying machine' and stuck to the road like glue; find a country lane, put it in 3rd (Auto) which also gave some engine braking, and not much would catch it, we had ours for about 4 years, first mine and then swmbo, and we both loved it......... :y :y

I owned an import estate for a 4 years I purchased direct from Japan, called the VR4 basically the V6 with a couple of turbos bolted on, Evo running gear and a Porsche designed tip gearbox, best car I have ever owned, so quick it was intoxicating. Reliablity was pretty good, but parts expensive when you needed them and the cambelt service was at £700. Loved driving it I never failed to smile whenever I turned the key, the normal V6 was pretty good and very smooth and quiet. However getting on now so not sure I would own one again unless a mint low miler, Subura GT next time for me. Both the VR4 and V6 heavy on fuel and even the UK cars prefer 99RON fuel. Build quality was good, no problem whatsoever with door locking or windows, in fact electrics were fine (apart from the clock). Hope this helps.
