Title: Leather handbrake gaiter - Any recommendations ?
Post by: DrAndyB on 09 November 2014, 14:44:53
Looking to replace leather handbrake gaiter as looking a bit worn on the end  :'(

Any recommended suppliers ? (other than flea-bay as I am a little hesitant ordering from there if they are rubbish quality   :-\ )

Assume Genuine GM can't be sourced or vastly expensive ?

Assume MFL same as FL.

Read a few posts of unhappy people with poor quality leather ones.

Thanks in advance.

Cut up one of SWMBO's 11-millionty leather handbags and make one.

She won't mind, honest!  :y

Pre/mid fl the same, Fl different... all are vinyl, not leather btw :y

Get a spare one and take it to a local trimmer and have them make an exact replica... that way you can be sure it's spot on  :y

Got one made up for the old man's FL Turbo Weasel (now my rattling old mardy oil-burner  :D) in cream, to go with the cream leather door cards/cream interior. Off ebay, and pretty sure they came from the only guy now doing them on heebay. Just search Omega gaiter and you should find him. They do all sorts of custom stuff, whatever you want. It doesn't have to be loud and garish.. for instance black leather with grey stitching for instance is subtle but attractive... also I'd say get the gear lever gaiter too. They're only about a tenner each, well well worth it. Original Vx ones are ten a penny from breakers.
