The Varche household is a fertile bed of great ideas.
My latest one is simplicity itself. For the sake of argument we will say it is posting photos of your pet online. (it isn't) .
I am 100% convinced it will be a worldwide sensation.
The serious question is how can I make money out of my idea?

Suppose you could post a montage to you tube and get paid that way :)
Or if it's that good go on dragons den :y
-
No it relies on other people making and posting the material

Pets, you could do birds as well, and each post you could call a tweet, Oh hang on a min.
TwitFace seems to ring a bell here. ::)

How did people make money out of the Happy craze or gangnam style craze - music video clips?
This would be similar but photos on a theme.
it is a serious question

If I knew I wouldn't be telling...would I?

Either charge subscriptions, claim a cut for anything sold via it, or advertising.

There are vast multinational companies spending huge amount of cash trying to figure out what you want to do. Really
Videos etc get popular by "going viral". Someone sees whatever it is, sends it to a mate who sends it to another mate who posts it on a forum, so more people see it, and send it to their mates etc.
Recently on the BBC Apprentice, the task was to make a video for youtube. The team with the highest number of views won. The winning video was something like 3,500 in two days. Pathetic ! For truly "viral" add a few zeros . . . .
Cash. The viral impact of Gangam Style resulted in sales, either CDs or downloads or whatever. Not the video itself.
The cleverest thing is to produce something that looks amateur and appealing, but actually involves a lot hidden of corporate effort. Not easy ???

I disagree to a point Rog. Corporate video's and the like are called advertisements. Stuff which takes the world by storm tends to be amateur, but captures the mind of the populous. NekNomination, for example. The entire internetted (that isn't a word, but meh) got involved. IceBucketChallenge..... again, everyone knows what is was.....
How to make money from it? I'll be forked if I know.

Spot on Broomie
Might have to go on the back burner and then like some of our other ideas be done by someone else.
I have a great one for TV adverts(12 years old) that would boost interest but again don't know how to make money from that. Once you tell a company they could just say no thanks and use it anyway in a tweaked format as it isn't patentable. Same with this Internet fad idea.
Maybe I ought to get a job as a consultant with Google and get a handsome salary and let them make the fortune........

Yep. Mate of mine had a viral video. Just videoed his kitten's first encounter with snow on a cr@ppy gayphone camera. ::)
