Im just wondering if I can fathom out the wiring for the powersounder...
I presume its something like this...
1 Earth or chassis (-)
2 Power from battery (+)
3 Power to charge
4 Trigger (to sound the siren)
What Im wondering is, can I 'rewire' the loom to install a better siren, thus keeping the extra siren but without the battery backup...?
Anybody any ideas..?

Not sure I understand the point - if no battery back, the siren is redundant?
I think its a little more complex than your suggestion, as I know the ATWS ecu can tell if the thing is installed or not...

My Powersounder is connected (Yeah I know....) it doesn't make any sound when the alarm is triggered (I occasionally set the alarm off to make sure its working) - so the Powersounder is redundant...
What Im thinking is, I could install another type of siren, without battery backup, so the aftermarket siren sounds when the alarm is triggered...
I will, in duw time, be removing the redundant Powersounder....

It won't .. that is not what it is designed to do !! If you wish to test the power sounder ... simply take the keys out of the ignition, open the bonnet and then disconnect the battery ... as long as it is more than 30 seconds since you turned the ignition off the power sounder should activate on disconnection of the battery. ... it is NOT an alarm .. it is a POWER SOUNDER .. note the name .. it activates on removal of power !!
It is fitted to stop a thieving scrote stealing your car by chopping through the battery wires so disabling the normal alarm ... :)

The primary alert is a horn unit mounted alongside the powersounder. Thus a powersounder with no batteries is entirely redundant.
