Title: OOF Xmas meal
Post by: TheBoy on 18 November 2014, 21:10:43
We had a rather enjoyable OOF Xmas meal in Brakkers last year, with the obligatory xmas turkey chicken if a nice creamy sauce, mostly madras, but some korma etc etc.

Should we repeat the tradition this year? Also, are peeps happy with Brakkers, or a different location?  I'm happy to travel a little bit.

That said, my only free date I think is Saturday 13th.

Thoughts?

Had to melt them. No omegas owners left to flog them to. Theres a young fell round the corner got one but when I asked for fifty quid he said that was more than his omega was worth.

Mr Kelly'll be using our Caddy van, as he presently has transportation problems.
Distance is no object for 'im, so it's now date/venue dependant ... ::)

If a few people suggest approx. areas, I'll pop up a poll, and we'll go with the most popular, and I'll get a local to organise :)

I wanted steak for tea tonight, ended up with bangers and chips surprise...  ...the surprise being no bangers - they tasted bloody horrible, so went in the bin.  Suspect they had been in the freezer too long, hence why I'm not having a freezer in the garage.

Will pop up details of an alternative steak place, along with the one I had in mind later.

Nothing wrong with the place I had in mind but picked some people up who went there yesterday... £440 between 6 including 4 bottles of wine and beers :o

Apparently very nice though...

chrisgixer - I've looked on the map, but hasn't helped much ;D. Is that the one that we've been to before where you have to drive through an estate, and it feels that it'll go nowhere, but ends up in a little shopping precinct, and the curry house is in the corner? I believe you, me and aaronjb had a drink sat outside once waiting for a table?

If there isn't it must be the only section of Motorway in the UK without any!

Stupid boy pike. ;D

M4 50 limit starts half way between 8/9 and 10
Same east bound. Starts just after 11

See Google maps it's marked in yellow. ....and think of the economy. ;)

FFS, so I'm 'dangle berries'ed whichever way I go, grrrrr  >:(

Might take the Battlebus, in which case the 50mph limit is a challenge anyway ;D

50mph is only a distant dream for my commute, its a good trip if I manage to hit 40mph on the commute  :'(

There are average speed cameras but the first camera isn't until half way or more. There is a light on a pole to illuminate the road, but they are still easy to miss. That section has no street lights.

Think the m3 is being dug up as well. Between the m25 and light water. Junctions 2 and 3. For those coming from the south east.

Yup it is - starts just south of J3 and ends at the M25 junction.. 50 limit for 90% of that.

I'd love to come to this.. but I got the list of permitted foods through for my procedure on the 15th and, basically, the rules appear to be "if it's white and contains no fibre, you can eat it" .. so I think pigging out on Indian is probably out :(
