Title: Checkstrap bush
Post by: X30XE on 18 November 2014, 22:05:56
Being told by Vx Stevenage that they're NLS and I need to buy the whole link assembly.  :(

Does anybody have one they want to sell/know of somewhere that has one please?

That's bollards. I bought 3 last week.

Go back in there, speak to the exact same guy, and quote him this part number.

90462823

Then watch him squirm. :)

No not mine  :D Was someone on here mentioned it was new LAW  ??? Something like , its a h&s measure so that the door dont blow open on its own an knock a cyclist off  :D

Nah, that's utter tosh  ;D

The bush has sod all to do with holding the door in position... ::)

The strap itself being either detached or missing might warrant an advisory if the tester is a complete plum :-\

If there's a gaping hole where the check strap used to be connected to the "b" pillar, then that's a weakened structural section.

I think..

A pillar, but yes, that's not entirely unreasonable... :y

However that particular issue is more to do with constantly throwing the door open rather than a smidgen of wear on a 50p piece of plastic ::)

If that was the case it would be more of a "keeping it in position" so it was guaranteed the poor cyclist hit the door after you failed to look in the mirror, on a windy day.  ;D

I suspect a bit of a misunderstanding. A failed door bush can't fail, but I can see how a failed strap can.
