Noticed today my wipers are stopping at least 4 inches above their normal park level. If on set speed they function normally, if on intermittent they stop 4in above park level, then when triggered instead of going from that position, they drop back the 4ins then sweep ??? And whole process repeats itself. Now I have to resort switching to set speed, then quickly turn off ignition to park them correctly. Regardless if I now switch wiper stalk to off, as soon as the ignition is powered up, yes you guessed it, they automatically move from park to out of position and it's Bloody Annoying :( any thoughts chaps, seems more Electronic than Mechanical :y

Mechanical ..... http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=117001.0 :y
Usual cause is not clearing snow &/or ice from the screen before turning the wipers on ::) ::)

It's easy! There are only 4 hex headed self tappers holding it all in place. Just be very careful when you lift the assembly over the driver's side wing otherwise you'll damage the paint ..... maybe a thick piece of card to protect it. Nothing that you couldn't easily do in an afternoon. :y :y
You might need a wiper arm removal tool too, the arms sometimes get quite attached to the splined drive spindles ...... nothing that a wiggle won't sort out though. ::)

Might want to remove the scuttle as well Andy B. ::)

Ideally the fix is a lot easier with linkage/motor removed from car, (wipers & scuttle off, multi-plug & 4 hex fixings holding linkage)
as per the instructions on the link ..........

Which I would say is not particularly easy for most people. :)
....with a good chance of scratching the wing when removing the wiper mechanism. Btw.
Doable though. :)

Just removed scuttle, and adjusted position in situ on the Estate - no need to remove wiper mechanism ;)
