Don't totally see the point, but I have been meaning to stick a bullet cam on the nose of the Westfield (about 3" off the deck) and see how scary my commute to work looks. ;D

did you see the roundabout? its a bloody nightmare imagine it when all the hgvs, caravans and commuters are whizzing around it trying to zapp roung cos the lights are nearly always on red !!!
-
It did look a particularly cr@p bit of planning. ;D
They seem to be narrowing down most of the 3+ lane roundabouts near us to 2 or 1 lane because people can't figure out what lane they need to be in.
Or perhaps they need to create some congestion so they can then charge for it. >:(

But as you can see from the diagram, theres 2 way's to get to the exit point, so helps the flow of traffic in rush hour, if you know how to use the roundabout ;)

i remember the one near Colchester
Imagine a friday evening rush hour. A tourist, having never come across such stupidity. Kids argueing in the back of the car. Towing a caravan.
It was a 1.8 mondeo in a caravan way to heavy for it.
It was such fun

I got talking to a guy once who said that when they built the roundabout they had a bus parked up and inside there was a model explaining how the round a bout worked. Still didn't stop a few just freezing when they came to it the first time.

Just a darn sight more congested than it was in 1990 I bet!

regularily gridlocked, with people driving round until they are dizzy, trying to work out what to do.i rode round it this morning at 9a.m.chuckling all the way. ;D ;D ;D edit;there have been thousands of flats built in the old hythe area in the last 5 years kevin ,so you can imagine the affect on traffic volume in that end of town :o

Where is this complex roundabout in Colchester? My youngest needs some driving practice. :)
He passed his test 9 months ago and hasn't driven since. I went out with him on Sunday and I was scared. :(
He wants to drive down to Bristol next week. I don't think the A12, M25 and M4 are sensible places to be for someone with less than 15 hours solo experience. :(

greenstead roundabout,near the university,have fun :y

random driving is quite relaxing i find. i used to suffer very badly from panic/anxiety attacks. one way of calming my self down was to jump in my car and go for a drive. worked wonders. doctor was a bit concerned when i told him this. but hey, f*ck it. it worked for me. went for a drive one night and got as far as gretna green before i turned around. still go for random drives every now and again if i've had a bad day.
