Not crank sensor if it won't turn over.
Have you done the pedal trick for fault codes?

Is there no life in the starter motor at all? Sounds electrical to me, but no idea if there's a relay involved....?
-
brain dead this morning will nip out and check codes be back soon
-
ok so been out, no codes just continuous 10 blips and center display only come us low beam fld vision never had that before. could it just be battery as when turn key every light goes out, thanks
-
Could be a flat battery, or just a bad battery connection. Are the terminals clean and tight?
-
Can you get a meter across the terminals? But yes does sound like battery if the lights die. Strange there is no cranking at all, not even a click?
-
really does sound (and hope it is) battery :)
-
thanks to all have green flag on way sure they will test i am far from useful on cars anyway done my bit searching around justr in case battery and found discount code euro car parts ah70 cca 620 4 year guarantee was 87 down to 51.50 guess this ok and hope only battery many thanks folks :y

well hopefully mr green flag should be able to tell you straight away if its battery or not (ie: if it jump starts, then it be battery, of course) just before you go spendign 50 of your hard-earned quids unnecessarily just before christmas... I mean £50 - that's half a Halfords pro toolkit, of course! :y

I would say that frm the fact the lights did and with colder weather its 99 percent bat best of luck ???

My band new genuine Vx battery fitted to the V6, has sat for 1 week unused, and from a full charge didn't start the old girl. That was the other day. Now fully charged and indoors (the battery, not the car :D)
-
Have you got long leads that will reach the car from indoors? ;D
-
Did it start. I should be in Bletchley tomorrow.

:y :y :y
-
sounds like poor connection check battery and check starter (whack the starter with a jack handle or something similar if you can see it)

Is vehicle in question an auto?If so could it not be inhibitor switch? That'd stop it turning over,or in a blonde moment is it in gear and not park? Not that I've made such a silly mistake myself you understand.Oh no not me I haven't!!!
