Not crank sensor if it won't turn over.

Have you done the pedal trick for fault codes?

Is there no life in the starter motor at all? Sounds electrical to me, but no idea if there's a relay involved....?

Could be a flat battery, or just a bad battery connection.  Are the terminals clean and tight?

Can you get a meter across the terminals? But yes does sound like battery if the lights die. Strange there is no cranking at all, not even a click?

well hopefully mr green flag should be able to tell you straight away if its battery or not (ie: if it jump starts, then it be battery, of course) just before you go spendign 50 of your hard-earned quids unnecessarily just before christmas... I mean £50 - that's half a Halfords pro toolkit, of course!  :y

My band new genuine Vx battery fitted to the V6, has sat for 1 week unused, and from a full charge didn't start the old girl. That was the other day. Now fully charged and indoors (the battery, not the car :D)

Have you got long leads that will reach the car from indoors? ;D

sounds like poor connection check battery and check starter (whack the starter with a jack handle or something similar if you can see it)

Is vehicle in question an auto?If so could it not be inhibitor switch? That'd stop it turning over,or in a blonde moment is it in gear and not park? Not that I've made such a silly mistake myself you understand.Oh no not me I haven't!!!
