Swmbo has been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee. Does anybody on here know if this can cause pain in the thigh and calf as well?

Arthritis is very big in my family but i've never heard of that :-\
Is she taking any other medication that may be interacting with the meds for the Osteoarthritis ?
I'd get it checked out if I was you bud :)

My wife has Osteoarthritis and also Rheumatoid Arthritis, both are full body - so has it in every joint, also complicated with Fybromialgia... her medication, before it got sorted, was giving her a lot of complications with pain. It turned out that she was basically taking the worng medication at the wrong time of day because of something called 'NSAIDS' which are anti inflammitory medications... they was basically cancelling each other out so wasnt doing what they was supposed to do...
Your missus needs to get herself to her specialist and have a word with him/her about her medication.... as long as it is OA as it can easily be misdiagnosed, but she wont find out until after a couple of years to see if it develops into RA, she will be in quite a lot of discomfort until she is receiving the correct treatment.... there is no cure BTW...

I have RA,
It is diagnosed with a blood test, it takes about 6-8 months to get the medication sorted.
Ibuprofen is a good painkiller for it,reduces the inflammation of the RA,but can only be used occasionally,
Iam on steroids 10mg aday, methotrexate 20mg once a week,hydrochloroquine 200mg a day.
And still working and getting on with it.
there's lots of info on internet, best is arthritis.co.uk.
