The central locking system has been playing up for a while now, randomly leaving doors either locked and unlocked as it see's fit.
Not much of a problem really, I simply use the key to open the driver's door in the time-honoured tradition.
A new development. The key now opens all the doors except the drivers door and however hard I try I can't pull the drivers door button up (even with pliers)
I'm presently having to enter from the passenger door and then slide across, taking the gear selector up the arse in the process. :-X :-X
Any ideas chaps?...I've tried WD40.

I would say your drivers side door central lock motor is fubar, hopefully its not deadlocked as that could cause you an issue :-X

I can't open the driver's door from inside the car either. :'(

Sounds like the deadlock is on

What about k-y jelly? A good smear on the gearstick should help matters considerably. :y
Yes, it does sound like the driver's side CL motor has packed up in the deadlocked position. It should still be possible to open it with some force. Either turn the key HARD to the unlocked position and try the door handle or perhaps some pliers or mole grips on the lock button, pull that hard and try to open the door using the handle.
If you get it open, whip the door card off and remove the locking motor. They can be refurbed easily enough. new pair of microswitches and it'll be fine.

I'll give it a go. Not the KY jelly bit. :D

Without wanting to suggest deliberate destruction of another OOFers car... depending on the model, wouldnt a new door card be reasonably easy to source? So, if all else fails, attacking the door card / chopping into it to get to the mechanism might be last resort?

I eventually got the bastard to open from the inside with mole grips while pulling on the handle. The central locking now seems to have life of it's own working about one time in twenty and only on a particular door that takes it's fancy.
I have visions of being locked out of the car with the keys in my hand. For now I may have to resort to leaving a door open. :'(

Hmmm...the central locking may work but the driving experience would be lacking.
1967 Chevrolet Corvette with the 427 cubic inch motor....yes please.
2012 Daewoo Orlando.......no thanks.

You've had a lucky escape.
At the very least, disconnect the central locking motor in the affected door until you get the chance to repair or replace it.

Easy job?

Someone educate me.
Is there a CL motor for each door, or does the CL motor in the drivers door operate for all four?

motor per door .... often - incorrectly - referred to as a solenoid. Not difficult to replace, though Kevin provided a guide on repairing the unit with new microswitches :y

I'll wager that Daewoo boy didn't know that. :)

Easy job?
Take the door card off, remove the plug from the motor, reaffix the door card.

With the help of the OOF guide showing where the 'hidden screws' are located I have now unplugged the CL motor. :y
Managed to break the kerb light when putting everything back together though. :'(

..... 'You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off' .....

Swapping the motor is a doddle :y
There's a knack to it, which I sadly lack :-[ but follow the guides and you'll be fine :y

The two rear doors work perfectly with the CL.
Front passenger door works only when it can be arsed......so about one time in three.
Driver's door now only opens with the key in the lock. ;D
-
Do drivers door first, then repair the old drivers door motor and fit to the passenger door :y
Fronts are same, rears are same but ne'er the twain shall meet...
-
Done a couple of these now and i used the wrong guide so found the job nice to do ;D ;D ;D ;D
Door handles off one ;D ;D http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90543.0
Took it out door and fitted it on kitchen table. :y

Actually, they're interchangeable, if you consider the following points:
1) rears have a different shaped end on the actuating lever, but these are easily swapped.
2) rear and some passenger motors have only the single microswitch and only 3 pins in the connector. These work fine in passenger and rear doors, but you must have a 6 pin motor in the driver's door.
