We have a barn. Nothing in it apart from rats the size of cats. :'(

Reading the article, Id like to think that if I found my relative who died 10 years ago had such a collection, I'd sell off some, in order to fund the car museum that was his dream which never came to fruition. Or, vice-versa, as it is my dream to one day have a small car museum, be great to think when I'm dead and gone, that dream would live on with someone else, not just carved up and flogged off.
Sale of the Ferrari at 5mill would surely fund a pretty decent sized shed, air con, little shop and a restoration section. I know it's great to think of the money - estimated £12million, but he collected them his whole life; would be great to see them viewed and loved by thousands of us ordinary people, not restored then locked away by the very wealthy as 'investments'.

I would build a 30 car museum and fill it with the likes of Lc's and omega's , maybe one or two senators . Have all vauxhall related memorabilia on the walls . And of course a huge barn full of spares to wheel and deal in :)
-
Ok, so it's a deal we start one up together! :y :y :y
Actually, I do know a guy whose garage is like that. White painted floor and walls, cleaner than an operating theatre, flags, memorabilia, posters, old wheel trims on the walls, boxes full of brochures. Amazing place. And because he loves his Vauxhalls/Opels, not Ferraris/Porsches etc, the entire collection (including 3 cars, 2 of which mint) has probably cost less than the price of a single battered MoT failure 80s Maserati or whatever. :)

Ideally i would like a big farm area in the states and go hunting for old classic cars , tow them back and restore a couple , then sling them in a bunker fully a/c'd ... sell a few cars a year and live the dream ... EMD's rod shop ;D

That's my business plan, dammit! ;D
See if you can find "Graveyard Carz" if you like watching yank tanks being restored (very nicely, too, although the 'characters' on the show are a bit hard to stomach for the first two seasons!).
I was half tempted by this recently: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131365128251
I don't think there's any scope to make money off it, though.. I could be wrong - I'm not entirely sure what a nicely restored MGB GT goes for these days as the prices seem to vary from sub £1k to £14k for what looks outwardly the same!
Or this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181608181741 ;D

Really liked the Boyd Coddington American Hot Rod series , although there was a lot of monkeying about at least they went into detail of chassis design ect and showed how it was done start to finish :)

I came across this article about the French barn Find with some great pictures of a selection of the cars as prepared for auction. :y

One of the most valuable cars in the massive barn find, the 1949 Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport is among the most beautiful cars of its era. Expected auction price: $453,000 to $680,000.
Thats a big hole in the wallet for a pile of rust :(
