That is just...... ridiculous! :-*
-
I bet it's lively in the wet,or anytime else with that output :o
-
Ooooh that's a lot of stress on a busa lump. But mental power to weight ;D

Yes. It should make for a 'nippy little car'..... :)
-
Insurance should be cheap, it's only a 1.3 after all............ :D :D
-
I would kill myself in that :o
-
Ought to be fun while it lasts. :D
-
I like it but couldn't justify £21000 on something that weighs the same as a loaf of bread.
I wonder if it manages a 5 star NCAP safety rating?.... ;D
-
Have driven a couple of bike engine 7's now I can tell you they are very lively but I could not live with them.
Trouble is they have zero go at low revs then take off like a scolded cat, this is fine on a track where you only need to get rolling once but on the public highway its a bloody mare!
-
That would be an absolute riot on track..
Here's a video of a similarly motored Dax Rush at Bedford: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXZR5srXeHE

Pretty impressive Aaron, all the more so being an automatic(I never once saw his hands leave the steering wheel).
Mike Anderson has one of those that he uses in Spanish hill climb series.

Yes...This makes it the ideal car for the 'just passed my test' seventeen year old. ;D

At least the driver will only kill one passenger in that...

It's not an auto - if you look carefully you can see two vertical chrome bars behind the wheel, one each side. That's the gear lever..
IIRC I think it's running a Quaife clutchless box (clutchless upshifts, at least)

I'll get me coat.. :-[

What would this missile weigh?
I'm guessing around 450 KG.......about twice that of a Hayabusa.

You could probably get a bike engined Westfield down to 450 Kg. Given that this has a bit more gubbins, I doubt it's below 500, but not far off that mark.
-
Frankly, I'd have put a bit more weight on it and fitted a roll cage, given the performance and the use it's likely to be put to.

Built in 2001 yet with only 2000 miles beneath it's wheels.......strange

Not that strange for something of that ilk - it'll be incredibly highly strung, probably not a great deal of fun on the roads day to day (as Mark says) and if you're only doing ~300 miles on a track day (as you'll no doubt trailer it there)..
I've seen 20 year old Cobra replicas for sale with 8000 on the clock.. people build them without really thinking about what they'll be like to live with and end up never driving them out of fear/cold/wet etc

For a man of your wealth surely nothing less than a genuine 1966 7 litre Shelby Cobra will do, Aaron. ;D

If I had a spare few million lying around…
… I still wouldn't buy one ;D I'd rather spend £60-70k on a DB Replicas ally bodied, original chassis car, or £90-100 on a Kirkham (identical to the DB but with the cache of the name) ;)

Not short of a bob or two are you, Aaron. ;D
I can only dream of such wealth. :'(

Son of Thatcher..... ;D ;D

oooh.....I would love that :P

Hmm. then again, for the cost of that engine you could have an RST V8. :-*

Ooh one of those would be a barrel of laughs in a Westfield..
Must admit I did find myself looking at the Westfield catalogue last time I was bored in a hotel, wondering if it would be totally selfish to have one as well as the cobra ;D although obviously there would have to be some serious dieting!
Although I might be more inclined to build an mx5 powered clone - there are some very capable ones now and at least they're not like the old live axle'd Tigers..
-
You can't go building a garage on the front lawn (aka drive) to store it in, otherwise you'll never get the Cobra or RX8 out ::)
-
The Rex is round the back under the kitchen window - aside from the flat battery I also need a spotter to be able to get it out without demolishing the front on the shed or rear on the corner of the house .. ;D
