Title: poor fuel economy
Post by: Dan282 on 16 December 2014, 17:57:53
My previous V6's averaged around 23.ish around town. After a week or so of sensible ish driving im averaging 19mpg. I don't have any running issues and I will have a service done in the next month. If a service doesn't improve things is there anything else I should be looking for.

My 3.2 is doing about 19 around town and I had 30 mpg at 70 mph on a 800 mile trip to Scotland last week, I had just done a service and the intake breathers before I went. :o

Were your previous V6's the DBW ones, or the more economical 2.5/3.0?

Fuel consumption and driving an omega are not words that go together. ;D

I'm surprised any Omega owner looks at mpg, I know they're rubbish at it, but love the cars! :y

Yep I can push around 27 mpg from a 3.2 Manual in and out of London, does drop a tad if I use it on LPG though.  ::)

Check multi Rams are working. Check cam timing with a cam gauge from a locking kit. Make sure exhaust isn't blocked. General servicing as you say.

.....other than that, Lift and coast.
