Title: astra mk 4 springs

Is there any truth that astra mk4 springs lower an omega tastefully and still keep smooth suspension. Not like lowering springs they stiffin suspension. Just was told this by a fella.today he told me to fit them in mine  and I would perfer them to lowering springs

If you want lower springs by Omega ones. If you want to crash horribly, fit Astra ones, just remember that the Omega weighs nearly 50% more than an Astra.

The reason the Astra springs make it sit lower is purely because they cannot support the weight :-X

If you lower it, you do need to stiffen it. That's the nature of suspension.

I certainly wouldn't recommend fitting Astra ones to a nigh on 2t barge...  ...esp with that boat anchor of an engine fitted in yours (heaviest engine option).

Thanks for the replies guys. Which lowering spring manufacturer  would u recommend and is it possible.to buy say 50 mm rear and 30 mm front to level out the barge.

Kyb or Boge with Bilstein B4 shocks. Dropping the rear more than 20mm stops you achieving sensible rear camber settings, which will kill tyres in no time.

I'd recommend no more than 30m front and 20mm rear (from stad, or 15mm F and 5mm rear from LSC).  Even that struggles with multistoreys if some mongrel has fitted an Irmscher kit  :-[

Most lowering kits are 30mm all round, which leaves an issue with the arse. If you can get them, Irmscher front, LSC rear, married with B4s, or B6 if you want it firmer.
