Title: Fuel prices!! NOT moaning (for once!)
Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 06 January 2015, 11:20:29

£1/litre in sight, apparently.

And I drive a Diseasel!!  >:(

Right, I need to get the V6 fixed quick!! A rather nice full-circle thing, when she was laid up petrol was about 97p/litre, be great if the next time she gets filled up, it is with fuel at the same price  :y :y

It is indeed!

The only bit about the Turbo Weasel I like is when I'm at the lights next to pretty much anything, they see an old blue car, lathered in dust and bird effluence, a huge ding in the rear wing, sellotaped on door mirror, and three styles of alloy wheel... I make sure I'm in Sport mode, in D ready, and soon as the lights hit amber, floor the noisy pedal. Nothing happens, and it pulls away almost sedately... we're nose-to-nose for approx 1 second, then the turbo kicks in and after a few seconds there's just an ever-shrinking car in my back window.  8)

Well, I would see one, were my rear window not covered in ground-in muck, hehe  :y :y :y

Great that fuel prices are so low. However enjoy it now as even if they continue low, there will be a price to pay elsewhere. Government tax revenues from fuel are lower, Green energy now looks very expensive to name but two.

I wonder how much discount her clubcard has this month?  I bet that will make diesel for the battlebus under £1

Bit of a gamble this isn't it?Do you fill up now while petrol's as cheap as it is?Or do you think "it'll be cheaper tomorrow"and so wait and hope it doesn't go back up in price again?

A quick Google suggests either Tunisia, Yemen or USA.  ::)  I wouldn't fancy Yemen much to be honest, even if the petrol is cheap.  :-\

45ppl sounds expensive, that said the US gallon is smaller than ours, so that kinda works...

Seattle isn't that cheap - it's about $2.60/gal here, so that's about £1.72/us gal and there are 3.79 US gallons per litre, £0.45 litre ;)

Since when ?? 0.264172 US Gallons = 1 litre last time I calculated a fuel uplift in the states  :)  :)  :)

but that was over 6 years ago, perhaps they've changed since then ... :) and it was an uplift of 50,000 litres ... perhaps the numbers change with scale ??  :)

Their pints are smaller, so each bigger unit is too.

Hope that helps!

And a US quart is two US pints(unsurprisingly), and is therefore smaller than an Imperial quart. Not that I've ever heard anyone use that as a measure.

Just realised, up until the recent drop in fuel prices, so let's say 123p for petrol last November... the fuel in the V6, since her last fill-up in 2008, then getting laid up after crank sensor failure (with a full tank) has grown in value by about £25!!!  8) :D ;D 8) ::)

So people would rather waste an hour of their time to save a few pence.

Once had a supermarket discount for fuel. Filled it to the brim for holidays. Think i saved £3.. which really helps when you spend £85.. ::)
