Freeze it and it will just break up, you could try ice, but you can, or could, get an areosol freeze agent to spary on, works well on chewing gum too.............. :y

Maybe lots of ice or bag of frozen peas over it for a while and then it should break off, if you see what I mean.  :y

Spit on it, allow to soak, then carefully scrape up. Finish off with Ambersil groom foaming upholstery cleaner.

Works on chewing gum too :y summat to do with enzymes...

What about the freeze spray that plumbers use to freeze the water in central heating pipes when changing radiator valves and things...it does work on them as I have done it...sold by any good d.i.y.stores  :y :y

In theory yes, however I seem to be 'old skool' as a quick google found various liquid products, yet when I sold industrial cleaning equipment, in a different life, we had an aerosol freeze product............... ::) ::)

Freezing potentially damages the pile/fabric as you get a solid block containing both sweet and fabric... Spit is free and guaranteed to work every time :y

Got a nice block of ice in the freezer.  :y  Maybe I'll spit on it and then ice it!  :y

I read somewhere else that olive oil breaks it down....  :-\

No it's a place that I rent out, where the tenant did one and left it in a bit of a state.  >:(  ::)  Hey ho....  ::)

Anyway the ice worked a treat! I made a big block last night in a marg tub, sat it on the gummy patch for half and hour and then gave it a good scrub and it's all come out!  :y

OOF to the rescue once again!!!  :y :y :y

I'll see tomorrow when it's all dried out, but yes I might have a very clean patch!  ::)

Should be good though, it's dark brown with a speckle in it, so it hides a lot of abuse!  ;)  :y

Don't feel 'slighted' Al, I was keeping the spit method in reserve!  :y  ie I'd have probably spat on it in disgust if the ice hadn't worked..  ::)  ;D
