It's probably been put on here somewhere before, but I have a problem with the front o/s tyre wearing on the inside. Tyre only been on a year and scrubbed the inside down to the wire . would the lower wishbone bushes be the problem, they seem ok but very weak.

While that may affect it, I would have thought that being assymetric wear it is more likely something else. Either geo setup, or possibly another O/S steering component. :y

Check the suspension components for wear, if all is well camber set up is probably incorrect.

Mine did this from NEW !
I treated her to a new set of wishbones (fitted by Daz :y) and full Geometry setup (Nigel Langs in Bolton :y) and she is straight and true now, feels like back on rails, and no abnormal wear or feathering on the tyres. :y
I suspect car was never set right from Fritz when he built it ! ::)

There is a lot of compliance in the front wishbone bushes which is why most fit poly front bushes before having setup done.

Tis the camber that kills the inside edge.
The tracking will produce more of a feathering across the tread if the camber is anywhere near right.
The camber on the front of an Omega from standard ranges from to much to ridiculous given the main usage of the car.

It'll always be due to camber, but why is camber out? Could be worn components, or poor setup.

Should i fit new wishbones, or just new poly bushes, or fit new wishbones with poly bushes?as a start.And where can I get camber checked? ! Once the bushes have been fitted,

Is there a branch of WIM (wheels in motion) relatively near to you.? They do a full geometry set up and know the settings for an Omega. They also do it at a reasonable rate for forum members. No use going somewhere where they just do toe in/toe out type adjustment.

If you have OE bones fitted, a good option is to fit new OE rear bushes to them, and fit polys to the front. If pattern bones being replaced, Lemforders from AllGerman I believe are still considered acceptable, but it is still sensible to fit polys to the front. :y

Not many left the factory too bad. Passage of time and wear....

-1.40 from the factory, far to much for a barge like this.....even though I love them! :-[
Still the Omega is not the only car around with the problem of undue tyre wear. ;)
