Title: Hi all
Post by: gobuddygo on 12 January 2015, 17:34:38
Hello,

I might have been a member here in the past but can’t remember, Just took delivery of my latest Miggy, I have had 3 in the past a 2 2.5’s and a 2.2 Facelift, I have had a Vectra estate for the last few years (yes yes I know), I bought it as a skip car (£550 eBay) whilst doing up my step daughters house and it kept passing its MOT with very little work, (I work from home I do less than 1.5k miles a year) but the advisories last time ran to 3 pages!! So as the MOT was due this January I scrapped it.

Been looking for a replacement and wanted another Miggy had to be an Estate as I am hopefully moving house soon so would be ideal.

I wanted a Star Silver V6 Auto one with good spec low mileage and a 03 plate (not much to ask lol).

I ended up buying a 2002 2.6 Auto Star Silver 93k estate on eBay for £710 (the seller knocked me £25 off later towards my tax  ;) )

Why did I buy this then? 12 months MOT, had new rear shocks, new front wishbones (not cheap ones) new drop links, new oil cooler full service history all receipts and the cam belt thermostat and water pump done 10k ago, it drives like new no rattles no squeaks nothing, one small scratch on the front bumper on a small mark on the rear rest of the body immaculate.

Came with 4 brand new Michelin winter tyres on AND another full set of alloys with summer tyres on with reasonable tread.

It’s a CD with front spots, parking sensors, heated seats and the usual CD stuff.
Seller mentioned a few problems such as Arm rest broken (£20 from eBay), central locking sticks on driver’s door (will strip it down if it ever stops raining, done it before easy fix) and it needs a new door stay plastic washer to stop it banging (80p I have been told), I have since found out it has the wrong wipers on and the tailgate stays are shot (£11 new from eBay).

I intend keeping this a while so will give it a full service soon.
What do you think?
Cheers
Frank.

Hello, and welcome.
l
Looks good, and the price you paid wouldn't cover the cost of the parts you would normally need but already have.

Hi Frank. Welcome (again?) to the forum from another newbie.

Looks like you got a great deal there with all the work done and wheels.
