Post by: flyer 0712 on 15 January 2015, 17:41:13
On my automatic miggy...when the gear lever is locked into park if i just apply the foot brake pedal there is a defnate....clicking sound every time the foot brake is applied....it appears to be the locking mechanism for the gear lever..any ideas why it does this and how can it be cured.. :y.

It's a deliberate, factory designed shift lever interlock... covered in the handbook :y

Basically it stops you from moving the lever from park accidentally, which is nice. Absolutely, totally and perfectly normal :y

The click is the solenoid working, and is both normal and unavoidable.
If it bothers you, wrapping some dense foam around it might make it quieter.

My wife once complained that she couldn't pull the shifter to drive from park.

Press the brake pedal I told her and you'll be able to do it  ::)
