I suspect by the time its in Lord Opti's price bracket, it won't be exclusive enough.

Is it friction driven? You know, pull it back and let go? like the toy cars you buy kids?

We sell them in work. Everybody goes ga-ga whenever a new one comes in for a customer. Let them get on with it.
Don't get me wrong, they drive VERY nice, power off the line will surprise many a supercar driver and they have a 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol-turbo engine from the new F56 Mini Cooper for when the 'leccy meter runs out and to recharge the battery.
Unfortunately, they are still a 94K car and if I had to spend that money on a BMW, it would be an M5 with all the options, including the 10K ceramic brake upgrade and HUD system, plus I would still have enough change to run it for a year, not a hybrid.
On a similar note though, the I3 hybrid (not the all-electric version) is well priced and a good seller....... (even though a newborn infant in N.Korea could have designed a better-looking one).

Talking of Beemers, I haven't seen Del Boy on here lately. :-\

It's a bit more design for designs sake - basically part of the international unwritten competition to fit as many surfaces and lines on a car's bodyshell as possible. It's more successful than the i3 - and a perfect example of how if you design something that long and low, it's almost bound to look good - but when you try and force those same lines on a 'normal' proportioned car - like the i3 - suddenly it looks a mess, and shows just how messy the form language is.
Lots of criticism gets aimed at VAG for being 'boring', but as a for instance, the Golf is protected, and always looks clean, simple and a neat execution, and ages well. I still think the Mk 4 looks great today, and doesn't look dated in the car park, in spite of its 18 years of age.
18!??!? That car came out 18 years ago!? Jesus H Christ, I feel old, now!

Snap! We torsion bar enthusiasts never forgave them. >:(

How can you EVER be a fan of torsion bars on the front of a car......NOTHING but trouble.

Oh, God! he's reminded me of my morris Ital. :-[
Kept having to lop bits off the mud flaps to stop them dragging on the road during cornering - if you could call it that!

I ran Beetles for 20 years, and NEVER had the torsion springs fail. I won a special stage in an RAC sponsored rally driving one, albeit a minor rally, but still only open to those holding RAC rally licenses. I have a pic somewhere I'll try to find. :y

It certainly was. I had a brilliant navigator, who did all his calculations with a slide rule (we couldn't afford one of the new rally calculators) while being hurtled from side to side (previously in a Mk1 Consul), and in between lighting my cigarettes, (I know, don't ask :-[) he would vomit out of the window, and then carry on as normal. The guy was a legend. RIP Dave.
