Title: ScanMyOpel Android App Question
Post by: zirk on 31 January 2015, 17:35:03
I know a few Members are using this, so my question is this, its uses the ELM2327 BT Device so does this work on pre 2001 ODB VX Cars? and if so, does it actually work on them?

Thanks, but my question was specific to Scan my Opel App.

The Torque, is just a Generic ODB2 Post 2001 Code Reader. so unlikely to work or read pre 2000 yr cars

It works on my 2.2 and other DBW cars, but not on my 2.5 if that helps.

Works on both the 2.2 / 3.2 although their 2002

There is a way to get the app free but won't post on here probably against forum rules.

That matches my understanding, that it cannot communicate with pre OBDII cars.

There is a (legitimate) free ScanMyOpel app available on the Google Play store precisely for this situation so you can try before you buy. It only reads the engine ECU though.

I used it with my facelift 2.6 before I bought the paid for app. I don't have a pre-facelift any more to test against but my assumption is that it won't do much on a pre-facelift :-\

The paid for version costs £6 FFS. Why are we promoting pirate software? >:(
