Hi guys,
Got a mate popping round Sunday cos his Mundane-o glow plug lights flashing constantly and car goes in to limp mode randomly.
All four glow plugs have been replaced.
Does the flashing glow plug symbol suggest that one of the glow plugs is duff or one if them isn't getting the voltage needed to work? Is the flashing glow LPG symbol linked to the limp mode? Does it indicate there's an injector proble? Any experience advice offered would be appreciated.
My first port of call is to get the code reader on it.
Any ideas? :)

IIRC my son's TDCI had this problem, and he had the injectors(?) re-programmed, which sorted it. :y

Cheers mate.
Looking on the net it could be a number of things inc. cam sensor and obviously expensive injector replacement. When you say reprogrammed is that an ECU reset?

Yes, I know I changed the cam sensor and it didn't fix it, (I think I still have the cam sensor in the man cave ::)) so took it to stealers who said they could re-program it (I think they said injectors, it was several years ago). Anyway, that did fix it, and he ran it for another 2 or 3 years with no further problem. :y

there few can go wrong in mondeo tdci when glow plug light flash
1. VVT sized on turbo
2. injectors
3. turbo actuator error
4. fuel pump
get code reader on it and you will know . if you need injectors programming let me know

Looks like we are both in the tdci cesspit Webby, got one here that's kicking out white smoke and a strange whoomp whoomp noise from the passenger sidefront. Seem's to have full power and egr blanking hasn't helped ::)

I take it the light didn't reset when you turn the engine off and back on. Had this on the focus after I chipped it, the for plug light would flash and it would go into limp mode under full throttle. It reset every time I turned it off. The code was for the fuel valve, simply turning the chip setting down a bit sorted it. I assume that isn't your problem, but like others have said, reading the codes is the only way, I am not sure but would think if it doesn't reset itself then it's likely to be a faulty sensor, unless he had changed the injectors I am not sure how the ecu could loose the coding. Even if it had it should reset when turn it off I didn't think the lack of injector codes was a fault as such, just causes rough running as the fueling rate is wrong which is what other sensors see as a fault, hence the light.
Don't think you are local to me or I could have a look on my machine but if you are you are welcome to send him round. Guess Serek is a lot closer and has offered anyway.
Happy to be corrected if any of my info is wrong, am fairly new to diesels and am up for some learning.
