hi all, can I ask about car batteries, so I bought a new one after car failing to start and members suggested battery change. I did and put in a lion 100 which is 70ah 620 cca .
since then I thought it was just me but wife says headlights somewhat dimmer as is dashboard lights. the battery that was in was lucas classic lc075 55ah and 510 cca. should change make the difference thanks

New battery should be stronger than the old one :-\
If you've access to a multi meter, then I would have a read of Kevins voltage/battery guide and see what the charging is like :y

thanks al I found multi meter and checked old battery which shows 11.49
will check new one tomorrow but headlamps after heading home from you definitely dimmer

Well shagged.
12.49 would be about right.....13.5-14.5 with the engine running.

It could be that the alternator is struggling with demand given your misting issue and running the fan at full tilt with the headlights and rear screen heater all switched on, but believe that load is part of Kevins test :y

Alternator has to be able to cope with 'full load' hence why when you test the charging voltage you tend to switch anything and everything on - Main beam, Heated Rear Window etc.
Might be possible that the new battery is faulty?

It has HID lights so brightness should be independent of battery voltage (as it uses a step up converter)

MV6 has HID's so even a slight drop in Battery voltage shouldn't make that much difference in low beam brightness due to there designed voltage feed.
High beam possibly, as there fed straight from the DC system, as for dash lights, check the Dimmer position.
