Title: In Car Phone
Post by: Steve B on 28 February 2015, 13:20:57
Is there a fuse for this in the fusebox or will it be a inline fuse. Ive had the meter across it and its dead, But i want to use the power in for a sat nav and bin the holder  :y  I also believe it is a factory fit.

Looks like a afterthought Nokia Hands Free thingy, most Cell Phone fitters worth their soul would have put double inline fuses via direct connection to the Battery (one on Pos and tather on Neg), thats not to say that the Nokia Loom that came with the Kit didn't have its own fuse in line on the Pos Loom feed somewhere, and it may also have been wired for Ing. or Aux Key sense.

Difficult to see want left plug is, but I would guess left plug is Power and right plug is Audio / Mic.

Any other plugs / connectors hidden out of view?.

Is there no Model number on it, or probably a black box connected to it tucked away somewhere, normally hidden above the footwell covers.  ;)

That looks like the factory fitted socket for the phone :y

I will try and find the photo I took of mine to confirm.

Yeh its plugged into the pre-wiring. Snip the tiewrap, lift the latch on the plug and the loom will detach. Aerial plug will be either FME or Mini UHF, just unscrew the two parts and it will detach. Holder and bracket will come off as one - looks like the clip fit one so will come out with a wiggle, if not its the sturdier version with a screw behind the radio .

Think ive confused it a little. :-[ :-[ I will go again...

The picture(above) of the phone/holder has got wires coming out the bottom that you can see... and it goes behind the silver trim,,I have since been under the dash and found them wires (not shown in any pic) Ita a Antenna type plug and one thick black wire with around 4 wires in.. and they are all dead ...

Now for this pic,,,

This is a random wire up behind there and wondered what it was owing to i want to latch into it and feed a satnav..

This is my phone connector.

There should be a loom from this plug to the Nokia hands-free controller then another from the cradle to the controller.

Sorry, I didn't take a photo of the finished install.

Mine is lying on top of the trim panel underneath the glove box (it is the black box half hidden by my hand). If you follow the wires you will find yours. The thing is there isn't a lot of space to hide it so you should have found it already :-\

If not used it would be taped up with masking tape (you can see the remnants of it on the photo) to the top side of that cable tray.
