Title: rear fog lamp switch
Post by: Magwheels on 28 February 2015, 16:47:37
Hi, Can I get the rear fog lamp switch out without taking out the whole lighting switch?

It works but is a bit temperamental and if it comes out easily I will take it apart and have a go at fixing it, if not I will probably just leave it.

Easier to ask than start prodding around with a screwdriver :)

Not sure, but would be easier to see if you popped whole switch assembly out - 2 minute job ;)

End cover off, push switch from back?

Might do it when it stops raining.

As I said, it does work, it's just I know it doesn't work "proper" :)

Foglight switches are independently replaceable but you have to remove the main switch assembly first...

Slide a bank card in either side of the rotary switch, then dash end cover off, flat blade behind the switch body, but don't touch any contacts, so very top and bottom corner alternating to persuade it out. Once clips are clear it will practically fall out :y

Cheers for that.

That's pretty much what I though as I did have a quick look the other day and thought yep they look pretty recessed and if I started prying the switch the top would pop off never to work again.

The light switch is one of the few things I have never had to fix/replace on an Omega so its always best to ask the forum if unsure.

Ever had the actual fog lamp switch apart?

Nope, but once out you should be able to carefully dissect it :y
