Title: Engine started then stopped, this may help others with similar problem.
Post by: engineerkeith on 04 March 2015, 09:00:05
Advice from members gave crank sensor, fuel pump and relay as probable cause.  It was found the followers had "hydraulic locked".  The engine was eventually started by flooring the acc. pedal and motoring it over.  This cut the fuel off which did not flood the engine and allowed the oil to dissipate from the tappets.  No further problems, hope it helps someone.

What work had been done?

The lifter design is such that it cant pump up unless there is a high pressure oil feed and the lifter is in the upper position of its machined bore.
