....in their Omega?
http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/p/accessories-engine-oil/engine-oils/engine-oil/5w30-engine-oil/?521776041&0&cc5_247
I've used Triple QX lots and it's the stuff we use at the garage in semi and fully synthetic form. For the Omega I usually use GM 10W40 with the 4 for price of 3 offer but I'm pretty poor at the moment and can't afford a batch job lot. :'(
-
I've used it and it seems fine. :y
I've also used their 5 year red coolant. :y
-
Used it my puma yrs ago and used the 10/40 semi in truck last week.
-
Cheers Opti. I too use the red coolant in the Omega.
in fact I may ask if I can do my oil change at work for any less ::) ;D

Too freckin expensive.
GM 10W40 is £26+VAT for 20l.

I thought it was more like £40-summat for that on TC :-\

My Omega has just been refreshed with 5 litres of Fuch's Titan 10/40 semi (not needed now the RX8 is history) and topped up with 0.75L of GM 10/40 semi. :y
She positively purrs like a sexually satisfied woman now. :y

Not if you buy 1 x 20l drum. Definitely less convenient than 4 x 5l, but a bloody sight cheaper :y

Right, so I need to specify it needs to be the drum! Got ya. I remember seeing them and I have some spare empty cans for transferring so that's not a problem :y
Out of interest what would the 5w30 Full Fat oil in 20L drum be? Fancied putting that in TBH

Ooooh mixing lubricants. No wonder she's happy :-X ::) ;D

Why? The engine doesn't need it, and won't benefit from it.

I dunno lol ;D I assumed full fat were best* :-\
*Bear wanders off to read his notes from school on engine lubrication

Its not a highly tuned, highly strung engine. Any old shite will do as long as it resists mayo'ing (so avoid Castrol).
Just change it regularly :)

Those two points are all that matters for oil as long as you're using the correct grade. QX 10w40 in mine out of the 200l drum at work. I could have 5w30, but keeping oil in a V6 is hard enough as it is.
-
Got QX in mine too , lovely and golden still after the service :y If you want to club together we could get a barrel or 2 of the stealer stuff between us :-\

If you're going to do that, then get a big drum and make a proper saving. Too much farting around for me just to save a couple of quid. Nor do I want several years worth of oil lying about.
-
Plus a handump is needed and a suitable measuring jug to decant the oil into. Still saving money?
-
I prefer to buy it in 4 * 5l cans as it allows me to put the old oil into the empty cans to dispose of it - garage I use for MOT's has a heater that runs off old oil.

Not that organised! :P ;D

Three barrels is 10 v6 services which is at least 50k miles worth...
When it's all gone, you can pay £50 a drum :y
-
I may see if the garage will let me do an oil change. . . For a very good deal :-X ::) :y
