Title: Loyalty...what loyalty
Post by: Terbs on 12 March 2015, 13:51:07
It seems that loyalty only works one way with banks
I have just had a letter from Nationwide saying that my interest rate is decreasing from April. The account in question is a 'Loyalty Account'.
There is a substantial amount of money in there (and other accounts). They are saying I get I.50% interest for being 'loyal' (over 15 years). I have had my/our savings with them since 1965 when they were the 'Co-op Building society. That's 50 years !!!!!!
I have had my Mortgages from them, etc etc.
So for my being 'loyal' to them, they are going to be 'loyal' to me and cut my interest rate by .30%
Bastids......that's loyalty for you !!!!!!!!!  >:(

Rant over :y

Sadly, loyalty counts for nothing compared to ensnaring new customers by dangling a carrot these days. Move your money on a regular basis, or they will take the ssip. ::)

Did you read the back of your letter Dr Opti....
They say that if the Loyalty account no longer suits your needs, you can tie up your money into Bonds......for the added extra of .05% over what we are going to get in Loyalty account......are they having a laugh !!!!!
Or am I mis-reading it !!!!!!! ???
