How is the plug that goes into the electric window cluster switch in the door card removed is there a latch of some sort. And is there any secret ways of releasing the door card at the top in such a way to avoid the plastic runner from detaching from the door card. and if it is detached is glueing sufficient to hold it together. Any tips would be very welcome. :y

Black bit on grey window plug rotates 90 degrees and lifts the plug from the switch cluster in the process :y
Door card... Drop the window and remove all the door card screws, one on back edge, three on bottom edge, two under covers on the front edge and hidden one behind panel above cubby latch. Then lift the top edge so the plastic strip is visible and use a long, flat bladed screwdriver to prise it up from the back end...
To reattach the strip as required, and decent contact adhesive will be fine :y
Window switch pushes out with a finger through the hole in the back of the card, unplug and loom pulls back through the card. Also need to unplug the puddle light to remove the card completely...

Thanks Al for the switch detail .I have taken the card off before leaving the switch attached to the card and managed to replace locking motors etc. Its just that I feel one day with all the banging up and wiggling the retainer strip will come off, I will try the screwdriver technique.

If in doubt, pull the door card off and reattach the strip anyways :y

Robson you must be able to put them micro switches in with you eyes shut by now Thats 4 you have done now ;D ;D ;D
PS; never seen a rear door one gone on here yet

Hello Steve Yes I agree the rear doors seem to survive better than the front,My post was just getting ready for the next time I have to fit another front motor. Not my favorite job.
