Well after completing my TPAC course today unscathed, I'm driving home on the M60 when all the traffic stops around jct 18. Then I look through my rear view to see some silly cow careering towards me at mach 10. Can't go left because of temporary barrier due to roadworks, cars in front of me, can't floor it into second lane due to HGV, so....................BRACE!!!!!!!! & now Skoda is now a shorter hatchback version of itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
IT REALLY BLOODY HURT TOO!!!!!
Both her airbags deployed & her car is a complete mess, mine faired a little better although I think its defo a write off >:( >:( >:(
Should of seem her face when I got out in semi-uniform ::) ::) ::)
-
Sorry to hear that. >:(
Mobile phone, or just away with the fairies? ::)
-
Got an independent witness who states 'I could see exactly what was gonna happen, she WASN'T LOOKING WHERE SHE WAS GOING AND HAD HER HEAD TURNED RIGHT'!!!! :o ::) :o
-
Bloody hell! I'd not be surprised if it hurt a bit more tomorrow too.
It was shut all morning for a fatality all morning too around there.
-
There was nearly another one Andy........Hers!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:(
Worst thing was I'd stopped off at Morrisons & got a crate of lager & some wine for SWMBO which had smashed to smitherines in the boot >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Ouch. Daft mare.... :o
Didn't notice the date. But does explain a few things.
-
I hope you booked her for driving without due care.. (As I doubt it's possible to book someone for being a useless mare)

How are the aches this morning? On the plus side, it's only metal and sprains and bruising heal with time :y
Only just got in having spent the last two hours giving a statement after a colleague got himself arrested... :-X
Fortunately the whole Friday 13th thing could have been worse... at least it wasn't a full moon as well ::)
-
Similar thing happened to one of my step daughters a few years ago on M62,only it was a pick up truck which hit her.Fortunately in her case and yours there were no fatalities. So yes it hurts and will do so for a while longer yet but it could easily have been so much worse.Glad that you're o.k.

Right lets put some positive spin on this.
Nobody hurt (yet)wait till uncle stemo compo lawyers to oof'ers gets going. :D,a,
Compo lawyers for oof'ers.
Got a ring to it. :D

As said, nobody seriously injured, and bent metal is just bent metal when all is said and done.
You're probably better trained/prepared than most to deal with the pyscological aftermath over the next few days, as I was clearly a mental mess the day following my bit of a pile up 3 years ago (probably heavily concussed if the truth be known). But just be aware of your own wellbeing (apologies for w@nkword)

Well been on to the insurers about 12 times today, my car doesn't seem to have fared badly, to look at it. Bumper cracked but still in shape boot lid damaged, but underneath its all pushed in, can't get the spare out of the wheel well, its squeezed right in it and all the rear floor is creased. :'( :'( :'( Got God knows how many alarms going off when I put the ignition on ???
The insurers have said its probably gonna be a write-off due to its age alone, so on the look out ........AGAIN for a replacement ::) !
They are bringing a replacement car till its all sorted out and I can expect an Insignia to be dropped off at some point this afternoon. As per injuries go.........I felt fine last night, but got up this morning & me neck was as stiff as, and painful!
-
Well its arrived!!!! Insignia Estate in black ??? ??? ???
As big as it is, there ain't much room for me in there & in the rear me heads in the roof ::) ::) ::)
Bit of a noisey bugger too!

The roof line does slope towards the rear. I guess it's to make it look sporty but that's of no use if it doesn't function as a full sized estate. When/if you get a minute, Jason, could you measure the height of the tailgate opening. I want to see if my dog crate would fit in one.

Will do STMO, I'm a bit let down by it really, thought it may have been a contender as a replacement. So its still looking like a Mundeo. Unless I convince the misses to a Rangie 8) 8) 8)

I like the mondeo, much better looking than the insignia, I think.

Well done on surviving that nasty crash Jase, I do hope that you do not get a long term pain from whiplash, SWMBO is suffering 30 years later after quite a minor shunt. :(

Looking again at an Antara, Andy H whats the verdict on them? Had any dealings with em???
-
Not great after 60k miles :-\
Insignia ST is much better on headroom than the hatch/saloon fwiw... Got a nice white one you can have for £10k... ::)
-
Glad to hear you're all in one (big) piece Jason ;-)

Sorry, can't contribute anything useful to a discussion about the Antara - I had to use Google to see what it is.
Hoping that your neck pain fades away and doesn't bother you ever again :y
