Title: Where is the Alarm bonnet sensor
Post by: evilmum on 22 March 2015, 00:46:11
My car alarm is going off all the time. really annoying. on my display it told me the alarm was activated by the bonnet sensor. Can someone please tell me where the bonnet sensor is can't find it.

On mine it's on the passenger side near suspension turret although I do believe that on some later models it was changed to similar position on drivers side.Possibly a picture on here somewhere of the engine bay which'd show it,but not sure how to find such a picture.

A sticky up thing 2inches tall with a rubber gaiter drivers side mounted on engine?

Pretty sure the OP is in Australia driving a 2007 Chevrolet Omega which is basically a Holden Commodore. Anyone want to bet if the bonnet sensor is even remotely in the same place as an Omega B made by GM? ;)

The quickest way to get a picture is to search Google images.

It will even bring up pictures from OOF.

AFAICT it's a plunger on the latch mechanism  :-\

Guess it would be accessed by removing the front bumper/grill. Slacken the two screws, move the plunger towards the latch and retighten screws :-\ if that doesn't cure it you'll be needing a new sensor.

I say guess as I don't have a VE anything on the drive :'(
