Got a call from my sister says her omega has developed a rattle knocking from the engine when it's warm, so I had a quick look last night it sounds like the top end is losing oil pressure when it warms up, when it's cold it sounds fine, is there a strainer on the oil pick up on these I can't for the life of me remember as its been a few years now since I stripped one or could it just be oil pump worn, this car ain't been well looked after at the most poss 2 oil changes in the last 10 years if that I know I changed the oil in it for her around 11 months ago now :-\ any advise guys and thanks in advance.

Phew, not well looked after, as you say! Well, not sure how relevant these may be to the symptoms you describe, but...
Breather bridge / rest of breather setup thorough cleaning
Dose of injector cleaner not going to hurt
Cambelt most likely in dire need of doing
Oil and filter change.

Yes there is a strainer in the pickup and it being blocked with sludge has been the result of at least one engines demise that I've read about here..
IIRC on the v6 you can drop the small lower sump without dropping the subframe and get to the strainer to clean it out.

The breathers I cleaned out around Xmas time due to over pressurising and oil blowing out the cam cover gaskets and blowing oil all over the place. The breathers were blocked solid and the cam belt age has only just purchased last month will be doing that asap as that's well over 10 years old lol

Thanks also to aaronjb as I may well be cleaning my oil strainer now, as preventative maintenance.

Morning guys just a update pulled the sump off yesterday the strainer was clear although there is a lot of tarnishing and coking inside the engine I tried running some flush through it but no joy I'm kind of at a loss with it as there is plenty of oil pressure any other ideas anyone as I think it's destin for the big scrap yard in the sky :'(
