I think I already have the answer. :-\

Judging purely by the name, I'd hazard a guess... Are they perchance a self-appointed "jobs for the boys" outfit funded by their members in exchange for endorsement regardless of their actual capabilities?

In a word....yes.
I have a dispute with a 'windows company' to the tune of £5640. They are insisting on payment, and I am refusing.
They have pointed me in the direction of the GGF to, as they put it, 'independently' resolve matters. The GGF are wholly funded by their members. Safestyle.......Everest.....etc...etc. I wonder how independent that makes them? ::) ::) Biting the hand that feeds you springs to mind.

Suggest to them that you'd rather Trading Standards help independently resolve matters. :y

Good idea, Sir Tig. :y
There are too many of these supposedly independent organisations that are funded by their members.

Joking aside, the conservatory was clearly sub standard :o

The danger is that if you use their 'arbitration services' you will have to enter into a contact where you agree to abide by their 'independent' ruling. :( :( :(
When it comes to tradesmen the only worthwhile recommendations are those that you know personally or from your friends and family.
Surprised you didn't ask your friend Liz which ones she recommends by Royal appointment M'lud. :P :P :P
