Title: Range Rover V8 Auto Box
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 29 March 2015, 17:38:26
The Auto box on my Rangie has always been silky smooth. The last couple of days, it's had a very slight delay in the drive being available, after selecting Drive.

Almost not noticible, but I know the car well, and I noticed.

I checked the ATF today with the car on a flat surface - engine running, and cycled through all gears.... I pulled the dipstick out, wiped it off, put it back in, removed it... and on the dipstick I saw...... NOTHING  :o ::)

Feel too shite to do anything today, but I guess a topup at minimum is in order! Seeing as it has a drain plug, I may just drain any remaining stuff out and renew.

Once I've found out if (or more likely where) I have a leak!!

What Autobox is fitted to it? Presumably something different to the GM180 in the SD1's?
