Has anyone successfully rubbed off that crap soft touch coating on the door cards, specifically the area by the switches as where it has rubbed off on mine through use it is a nice gloss plastic.
Was wondering if really really fine wet and dry would do it. I have a spare door card so was going to give it a go but wondered if anyone had any experience of a good way to do it before I start
Thanks

Cant find the post from that thread Al. Could you give me a brief run down, wasn't sure from your reply whether it was a "yes it can be done" or a "Don't go there".
Cheers

There a few threads re soft touch repair on the web, car forums mostly, but not aware of any good results on here. By good I mean matching the Oe finish.
Sadly there's usually more pressing repairs demanding attention. ;D
DuPont and others do a soft touch paint. Might try it one day.

I was thinking about just rubbing it off as i once tried to clean my doorcard arm rest and i thought it was dirt coming off but it started rolling off the coating, I think i was using a bit of brake cleaner at the time and it now seems to be just plastic left on there, can't remember why I thought it would be good idea at the time ;D
I was really hoping to just use fine wet and dry and get down to the plastic underneath. I'll have a play on a spare door card

Well, brake cleaner noted, if I ever get round to removing the old stuff. :y ;D

Don't quote me on that it may eat through the plastic completely. :-*
I'll have a go and report back

I've noticed the paint comes off with IPA.
Had been thinking of wrapping mine but had mixed results with wrapping.. :-/

What's IPA. I only know it as Indian Pale Ale. But that's me showing my age :y
