Title: Taxi Al and Chris Gixer
Post by: tigers_gonads on 05 April 2015, 14:56:22
Just want to say thanks to those two and others who have listened to my whining   helped me out on weird handling problems over the last few months.

New B4's fitted all around.
New rear springs.
New poly bushed wishbones, drop links and track control arms fitted.
And set up with WIM's slightly more aggressive settings.

Just been for a nice fast run and the car feels totally different.
No bounce when you hit a bump or pot hole.
You hit the brake and it just stops straight and true with no twitching or drama whatsoever. In fact its weird not been ready to try and stop it flying off into a ditch or something  ;D
Turn in is immediate with no slop at all threw the steering wheel. Basically you just turn, the front wheels bite with loads of feel and around you go with no drama at all :D
The back end feels like its connected to the front for a change  ;D

For those who know the A63 as it goes under the Humber Bridge, you used to have to tip toe threw the bends at 60 or less  :(
Lets just say i've just been threw it both ways at 70 plus 10% mph or more and I was nowhere near the grip limit  :)

Not been really aggressive with it so I can't comment on the rear bushes yet. Need to check everything it still tight first but upto now, the signs are bloody good  :y :y
Off to the burger van for a couple of days tomorrow so i'll chuck it at the Lincolnshire Wolds and see how it behaves   ;)

Thanks lads  :)

It is indeed a revelation when you get the suspension sorted... actually makes the car fun to drive again 8)

Enjoy :y

Good stuff TG. That's how "The General" intended the omega to be imo. Before the marketing men and bean counters got hold of the design that is. ...and time and wear has had its effects.
Take all those effects out of an omega and its surprisingly capable. :y

Agreed, especially with LSC or better springs and a decent Geo setup.
