Have you tried resetting the key....put in the ignition and turn on to show ignition lights,,then press on/off buttons on the fob a couple of times..turn ignition off..exit car and then try to lock it with the fob :y

hi thank you for your reply i have tried that and still no joy its doing my head in at the moment

Would be worth checking the fuses if there's no power to the instrument panel. :y
Fuse 15 rings a bell as a common suspect. Could be that has some influence on the alarm / locking too.

Thank you for your message i have checked all fuses i was having to take out fuse no 12 as this stopped the flashers going off this fuse is the 1 for the dash instruments i would leave it for a while then pop it back in all would be fine for a while then it would start again the flashers going off .
i have tried everything ive checked the power sounder that had already been disconnected and removed by the owner before me is there any other way i can disconnect the vauxhall alarm as i cant open boot via boot release in cabin area onlyb way i can open boot is via pulling down back seat and using emergancy boot release .
many thanks
